American Tobacco and European Consumers

English colonies that were established in the New World were introduced to tobacco by the Native Americans. Because they had desire for tobacco, the history of both the English North American colonies and the rest of the world would have been different. The massive consumption of tobacco increased so much that by 1700 the price of tobacco fell rapidly. Smoking was the most common form of tobacco until the eighteenth century when people shifted to sniffing. They considered sneezing fashionable and healthy by sniffing the tobacco. The impact of tobacco altered the Europeans habits, economics, and societies.
